Alex has been a Shareholder in the Financial Institution Advisory Group at Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund since June of 2009. He has been involved in financial institution regulation since 1974, when he began his employment with the Department of Banking and Finance as an entry level examiner. Alex served as the Interim Commissioner for the Florida Office of Financial Regulation from 2008-2009 and as Florida’s Deputy Commissioner from 2003-2008. In these roles he was responsible for the licensing, chartering and regulatory oversight of financial institutions, securities and finance licensees for the State of Florida. This included federally insured state-chartered banks and credit unions, trust companies and international banking offices. Alex has over 35 years experience in the regulatory and financial services industries.
