Florida Bankers Association: 2016 Safety and Soundness

2/3/2016 - By Abbey Lelina

Last week, the Florida Banking Association hosted the 2016 Safety and Soundness event in Tampa and Miami. Saltmarsh Shareholder, Paul Allen led the discussions on the topics of liquidity and sensitivity, providing an overview for banking practitioners on regulatory guidance and best practices within these areas.

Throughout the event, bankers heard tips, best practices, and common exam findings and regulations in areas including regulatory capital, asset quality, management and corporate governance, earnings trends, liquidity and interest rate risk practices and modeling.  Using the regulatory rating acronym, CAMELS, the seminar allowed bankers to hear from subject matter experts, as well as representatives from each of the banking regulatory agencies. They discussed topics that are imperative to bankers as the banking crisis transitions to a positive state.
