Saltmarsh Flies into Top Gun Summer Volleyball Tournament

Thinking we might have lost that loving feeling after a busy spring, we decided to brave the “danger zone” and unwind with a Top Gun Summer Volleyball Tournament last Friday. Our afternoon was filled with so much good food, fun, and 80’s music even Kenny Loggins himself would have approved.

(And, as you will see in our photos, everyone agreed to opt for a badminton net since we didn't want anyone writing checks their bodies couldn't cash!)

The Grand Champions of the Top Gun Volleyball Tournament hailed from the IT Department calling themselves Technically Awesome.

The Technically Awesome team included:

  • Jessica Benson
  • Johnny Holliday
  • Jared Wyrosdick
  • Ron Gregg

Second place went to Some Spike It Hot who won 3 games in a row to come back and battle it out with Technically Awesome in the last game of the tournament! The Some Spike It Hot team included Eric Linder, Brandon Heppler, Heidi Fisher, and Caroline Beasley. 

Thank you to all the teams who participated!!!!

The Maverick Mashers team included Philip de Boer, Josh Strickland, Lori Gambill, and Camille Heckmann. 

The Bad Assets team included Zach Farrington, Destini Cooper, Beth Lumpkin, and Jayme Gabes.

The Need for Speed team included Nicole Heineken, Claire Poirier, Frank Riehle, and Mike Egan (with substitutes Horace McCastler and David Uslan).  

Special thanks to Beth Varhalla and Ron Jackson for taking care of the food!
