Stogniew Hosts First CMO Roundtable on Social Media

8/31/2016 - By Zachary Farrington

Last week, Kristen Stogniew, Shareholder in the Financial Institution group of Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, hosted our inaugural CMO Virtual Roundtable Series. Eighteen bank marketing professionals and executives joined into the discussion, which focused on challenges and ideas in using social media. Some of the most compelling topics were as follows:

  • The approval process and/or guidelines for lenders/employees who want to use social media, and for community pages, to ensure that posts are appropriate for the brand; ensure brand consistency among offices; tools for monitoring, both for compliance and for success of marketing campaigns.

  • Finding and attracting a specific client niche for your business product offerings; use of white papers and obtaining/creating other targeted content, platforms and strategies to reach the specific intended audience.

  • Evolving strategy from posting to engaging, with current and prospective clients.

We will be exploring these topics further in our quarterly meetings moving forward. If you are interested in participating in these roundtables or would like additional information, join our distribution list to receive information as it is released.

Also be sure to tune in to the BankOnIt! Podcast, which interviews thought leaders in digital marketing and delivery of financial products and services.  A new episode airs every Tuesday morning. You may just hear Kristen Stogniew co-hosting the show!

Great and Informative session – thank you for putting the group together!  Susan Blackburn, President & COO, Freedom Bank

I attended the CMO Round Table: Social Media and I found it very valuable. It was very beneficial to hear what other banks were doing and what was working in the social media world as well as how they stay compliant. I would be interested in attending another in the future, just to catch up and see what has changed, since social media is constantly changing. I hope to have more to contribute as well as we branch out more.  Melissa Laterza, Marketing Coordinator, Englewood Bank & Trust
