The 10th Annual Community Bank Technology and Compliance Funnels & Executive Forum

The Bank Advisors at Saltmarsh hosted their 10th Annual Community Bank Events on September 24th and 25th at the University Club in Tampa, Florida. More than 200 representatives from community banks across the southeast attended this year, our largest and most successful event to date!

On Thursday, the 24th, our Technology and Compliance Funnel discussed the latest developments in information technology and various regulatory issues and trends. These sessions featured acclaimed speakers from organizations such as the FDIC, CISCO Systems and the Department of Homeland Security. Attendees had a chance to see through the eyes of a criminal in a presentation by Tim Leonard entitled "Rise of the Underdark: An Introduction to the Deep Web and Stealing for a Living" - in which Leonard walked us through the steps data-thieves take to cover their tracks in committing various cybercrimes.

Following Thursday's funnels, we hosted attendees and speakers for a casual, after office networking reception (which we refer to as the "After-Off"). We enjoyed the delicious hors d'oeuvres and the great company!

On Friday, more than 85 bank executives and directors joined for our Executive Forum. The Forum provides a platform for bank executives and directors to hear industry experts weigh in on current issues, global economic trends and regulatory topics. This year's session featured an investment banker panel, an economic and financial market update and a presentation on notification requirements following a data breach. We were honored to host former FDIC Chairman, Bill Isaac as our meeting's keynote speaker and provide each attendee with a signed copy of his most recent book, Senseless Panic.
