Hinson Discusses Cyber Security on Pensacola Business RadioX

11/23/2016 - By Zachary Farrington

Saltmarsh’s Robby Hinson, a senior in the IT Services Department, joined guests from TIG and Konica Minolta to discuss “The Cyber Security and Internet of Things” on Pensacola Business RadioX. No matter large or small, cyber security threats are a risk for any business that uses the Internet.

Although external threats can be dangerous, the most common cause of a cyber security breakdown begins with your employees. As Hinson notes, “The biggest weakness for a business is your people.” Whether it be through spoof emails, improper use of technology, or an instance of bad judgment, employees can leave your business vulnerable to hackers.

In addition to discussing what types of breaches to watch and how to train your employees, the panel also focused on how many businesses are “going paperless” both for security and efficiency. Hinson will be joining Pensacola Business RadioX again on December 1st to delve further into more aspects of cyber security.
