Shareholder, Alex Hager is featured in the Tampa Bay Business Journal today speaking on a new proposed banking regulation that could prove to be troublesome for some of the nation's larger players in the banking industry. Some speculate that this new regulation could help benefit smaller community-based banks and create a more level playing field across the board.

Alex is a Shareholder in the Financial Institution Advisory Group at Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund. He has been practicing regulatory consulting with Saltmarsh since June of 2009. He has been directly involved with financial institutions since 1974, both as a consultant with Saltmarsh, and as a regulator with the Florida Department of Banking and Finance and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR). Prior to joining the firm, he began his regulatory career as an entry level examiner and concluded his 34 years of regulatory experience with OFR as Interim Commissioner. Since joining Saltmarsh, Alex’s primary practice areas include regulatory enforcement action compliance, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, policies and procedures development, and firm marketing.
