Reingruber Alert: Florida Nursing Home October 1, 2021, Rate Enhancement

November 10, 2021 update from Florida Medicaid, a division of the Agency for Healthcare Care Administration.

During the Legislative Budget Commission held on November 4, 2021, the Legislature approved additional funding of $99,520,603 for Medicaid Nursing Homes* enhancing their October 1, 2021, Prospective Payment Rate for three months. This enhanced rate will be in effect only from October 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021, and will end on January 1, 2022. 

At the end of the enhancement period, the rates will return to those that were in effect prior to the adjustment. The enhanced rates, rate letters and calculation sheets will be posted here, http://ahca.myflorida.com/medicaid/cost_reim/nh_rates.shtml, under the October 1, 2021, section.

The Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) plans will have up to thirty (30) days to reprocess applicable claims at the enhanced rate. Impacted fee-for-service claims will be reprocessed by Florida Medicaid Management Information System (FMMIS) within the same timeframe.

*Nursing homes that already had an established rate on October 1, 2021.
