Saltmarsh takes great pride in partnering with organizations that make a positive and lasting impact on the communities we serve. One of the many organizations we have the honor of working with is the Pensacola Young Professionals (PYP), an organization of driven, young professionals with a mission to make Pensacola a great place to live, work and play.

A shining example of this commitment is PYP’s Internship Pensacola program, which was created in 2007 as a joint effort with the University of West Florida to attract and retain young talent within the Pensacola area by providing students and recent graduates with summer internships at local companies. The program’s primary objective is to provide these students with valuable experience and relationships that will ultimately lead to full-time employment and a future here in Pensacola.

Saltmarsh has always been an advocate of this program, as it’s allowed us to cross paths with many talented, young professionals over the years. Throughout its history, Internship Pensacola has provided 85 internship opportunities with roughly 35% of interns being offered full-time employment upon completion.

Jayme Gabes, who currently serves as our firm’s Marketing Coordinator, joined us in 2012 as a participant in the 13-week internship program and has been with us for nearly 4 years since.

This Blab TV interview features PYP’s Past President, Jonathan Thompson and Jayme Gabes as they discuss the benefits that this program has brought to local employers and students alike.
